Need some input on a build

like i said i am not trying to affend but really if the guy wants to shoot some old relic then what is the big deal. it just seems to me that anytime someone has a question the only answer they get is biuld or buy a 6br. maybe i misunderstood everyone else post. but really not trying to fight just pointing out what i thought i saw.

I've got a 6x47Rem with a 1-10, shoots the 70-75's lights out. Just because you have a 1-8 doesn't mean you can't shoot the lighter bullets. With a quality barrel it will probably shoot just about everything well. Not sure it's the best round out to 500yds and you can throw the 223 into that category too. Doesn't keep guys from shooting them at those distances. I bought 200pcs of Rem brass, one pass necked it up, in fact the RCBS dies had a tapered expander on it when I got them. Lots of 6BRs around, and I own a few BR's from 20cal up to 6.5. Always have room in my safe for the older cartridges, I say build it and post some pics. You can do a 6x45 right after that, I did.

Alf, Have you tried the 22-204 with a 7-twist barrel? I'm curious how this cartridge would push the 90gr VLD's!

I haven't. My one Krieger was a 7.8" but I only shot the 75's in it.

I think I'd prefer a little more horsepower to run the 80-90 class slugs. The BC gain is lost in the velocity deficiency. Although it's still better than a 223. ;D
