need seating depth for 162 A-maxes in 7 mm rem mag???

They're as pretty a bullet as there is out there. I've seated them from jambed to back.030 and couldn't get em to shoot anywhere near as nice as they look. 160 gr Nozler Accu-bond was my answer.

Bottom two groups, just touching the lands and twist is 1:9. OAL measurements with stoneypoint tooling.

I've had great results with them from .010-.015 off of the lands.
With my 7wsm I've put 3 shots into 1.5" at 565yds.

I jam them in my Remington Magnum T/C Encore Barrel. 3/4 MOA in front of H4831 after a Mike Bellm/Josh Kistler tuneup. Devastating on chucks and hogs. No Cervids with it yet however no doubts that it will do the same.

I keep reminding myself ...."the gun will tell U what it likes!!!"........I "usually" jam evrything at first and if that doesnt work ....move out aprox .040-.060",,,you shuld see improvement--or NOT......I have had marvelous results with these new 162's in my 7/07 (.280 AI variant) with .080" jump in my chamber with .180" FB....I seem to see good results by using aprox. 1/2 of my freebore for jump!!.....and the Rx-22 seems to favor a running start on the rifeling also.....but I hav wasted countless hours and tons of components trying to tell the gun what it likes....LISTEN to it....just like a good woman it will tell you what to DO.....Roger
PS,,,OBTW...good targets Rod (Nodak7mm)

0.030" jump has worked well for me with the 162 A-Max in my .284 - ~1/2" at 100 yards for 10-shot groups repeatably.
