hello
I bought a savage rifle in Oct of last year with a gray laminated stock. I just started shooting it a couple weeks ago.
After shooting the first time and cleaning I put it away. I then got it out a week later and it seems that some gun oil got into the wood itself and started to make the wood expanded. So I talked to a savage representative and he said I could send it in to get it fix or I could just seal the wood myself and save on shipping. So I guess I would like to know what type of sealant that I should get or should I take send it back.
After looking at the stock there is alot of unprotected area that needs sealed and I did not take the barrel and action out yet.
The savage representative was at the same gun shop that I bought it at and when they took a new one off the shelf he said you can see that the stock was not sealed the hole way.
and acted like that was know big deal and put it back.
This really got me PO because this is the 2nd rifle I got from savage that had some sort of problem and they just put it back on the shelf to sell to someone else .
The last 3 new rifles I bought were all savage but know more.
thanks for any help
Matt
