Need reputable craftsman to rebore a barrel

I have a favorite rifle with a custom stock that is chambered for 30/30 improved and I want to have it bored out and rifled for a standard 38/55 Win. The reason I want to have it rebored is the stock maker has since passed away and I want the forearm to stay married to the same barrel since it fits really well. Can anyone recommend a person that rebores barrels that does really good work?

Preacher is giving you sound advice. He did a 9.3X62 for me. After boring and reaming he cut rifles the grooves.

I used Jim as well, outstanding work. Also, Classic Barrel Works in Arizona if he has time. Yours is one of the classic reasons to rebore/rifle. I think it will end up being better than the factory for sure if all goes well. Outside diameter needs to be enough to have 0.100" wall thickness after boring. Runs $220 for the boring, additional $125 or so to cut the throat.

Al Siegrist here in Prescott, MI. Been re-rifling barrels for forty years. With a Pratt & Whitney sine rifler. Look for it on YouTube. Mark
