Need opinions and help with choice

Located in Australia, 22-250's is on the cheaper side compared to the 243 and 6.5 there will be no shortage of them im not worried about the cost of ammo either, also considering the 300wm at this point ive got loads of gear for reloading for 22-250/300wm and some stuff for the 243 so all are in question only thing that turns me off the 300wm is the barrell life, being a big sucka im guessing it wont last any where near the 22/250 but i could be wrong i need to do some research in my spare time and get the one that suits me the best...

I know the thread has progressed a bit but I just wanted to expand on the barrel life aspect. All three of your choices are barrel burners. 22-250, 243 and 300wm to a lesser extent.

I agree that a 243 sounds about ideal from what Im gathering about your intents and purposes.

.243 win is a great round. I have a extremely cheap ruger american sporter in .243. It easily shoots 1 moa with hand loads of 95 gr nosler ballistic tips over 39.8 gr of h380. My american likes to be loaded on the lands. Easily drops deer and hogs in thier tracks but a bit much on bobcats really tears up the pelt.

You should really enjoy the 243 tikka.
I have mostly cheap glass also my favorite of my cheap glass is my athlon argos 8-34×56 it has tracked very well for me in competition.

Looking at the Tikka website, they list the twist rate. 22-250 is a 14" twist which is more suited to small varmint bullets. 243 is an 11" twist which is also geared toward lighter bullets. The 6.5 is a different story. They offer 260rem, 6.5 Swede, and 6.5 Creedmoor all at 8" twist which will shoot the heavy target bullets and lighter bullets very well. I would look into any of those 3 choices. All 3 are great cartridges with good barrel life.

I've got a Ruger American Predator in .243 that's a good shooter and easy to carry...it's a 1/9, and I see that their 6 Creedmoor is a 1/7.7 twist.....

In reading my entire comment you'd notice that I used about 5 vague words to describe a 22-250 as a deer rifle. I wasn't aware of it's popularity in the southern states, so thanks for the info. I am certain I could build a 22-250 that would do a number on em' and here in Oregon, if I'm not mistaken, any centerfire .22 or larger may be used on deer and possibly elk... per regulation. (I am uncertain of that but a quick look at the regs lead me to believe that to be true.) I'm a shot placement person and if I go hunting I learn the anatomy of the animal and study the pertinent terminal ballistics given the estimated range of my shot. Having said that, I've seen people argue that a 243win is not sufficient for deer, and I assume they'd make that argument even for the deer you speak of. I've even seen forum posts (not here) of people saying a 270win isn't sufficient for elk. All things considered, if one is wanting to build a 22cal centerfire for hunting deer, I'd make sure it's legal where you live first.
.22 yes on deer no on elk.
.24 caliber center fire for elk minimum.
150 partition in your 270 will get the job done.

Congrats on your choice of both Tikka T3 and .243. I was in the same boat as you and ended up with a Tikka T3 in .223 on clearance for a song, but I should have opted for the .243 on clearance for slightly more. The bolt action is buttery smooth, and the trigger is crisp with zero creep. In my limited experience, I have never felt the action of any other factory rifle with that level of refined craftsmanship in that price range. Unfortunately, I can't use the .223 to hunt whitetail in WA State, so I went to the dark side.

So im tossing up on what setup i should go for, currently leaning towards a 22-250 for some decent sized game like deer, pigs, goats and rabbits manily because they are everywhere but im wondering how much i should be spending and what manufacturers are reliable and also what Scope will do the job, i will be shooting anywhere from 75m to 400 at absolute max. Only looking to spend 1500-2000

Open to a different caliber provided a good argument

Cheers!
A featherweight .308 shooting 110 or 125 grain bullets. It would have the advantage of long barrel life and the ability to shoot heavier bullets for that longer shot.
