Need info on Scope Bases for Savage Mod 12 Low Profile 223

Anybody got any information,make/model) on scope bases for Savage Model 12 Low Profile .223, and source if available.

Thanks...............alp

Ken Farrell also makes great one piece bases. I use them and warne on my guns including a couple of VLPs. Just think about whether you want built in elevation or not. If your scope doesn't have a lot of internal elevation and you want to shoot long distance, consider at least a 10 MOA base.

I have both one and two piece bases on various rifles. I prefer a two piece base as this allows me more room to load / unload the rifle.

Edit - Including a 0 MOA Warne on a Savage VLP in 204.

Murphy Precision makes stainless and titanium one piece Picatinny/Weaver bases in 0, 10, and 20 MOA. They will add to the stiffness of the action and reduce the strain on the scope.

I'm using EGW 20 moa picatinny one piece bases on 2-Savages target actions, 2-XP100 pistols, 1-700 and 1-Wby. I have absolutely no complaints, they're relativity inexpensive at 39.99 and can be bought directly on line through EGW, I also believe that Midway is now carrying them. Team them with Burris Signature Z rings, the ones with inserts) and you should be very happy.

3 of my 4 700's wear Badger Ordinance 20 moa one piece picatinny bases which are steel where as the EGW's are aluminum. The Badgers cost me right at 139.00 each and I fail to see any difference in their performance. If I had it to do over I'd be saving the 300.00. I've also used Ken Farell bases and they are very good.

Regards
RJ

If you're still looking, contact Scott Berish at Liberty Optics.com. I bought a Warne 20 MOA rail and a set of seekins rings for My Model 12 LRPV. It all went together perfect. There are pictures of my rifle here under the 'for sale' section, look for 1-7 twist for sale.
