Need Help With Kimber Extractor Problem

I have a Kimber Model 82 Stainless Steel Varmint (single shot) in .223 Remington. The control round feed claw is not engaging the cartridge rim, and I can’t chamber a round without “slamming” the bolt on the round, which I’ve discontinued doing. I believe that this is dangerous. Before I find a gunsmith to work on it, has anyone had a similar issue with a Mauser-type claw extractor? Any help/advice is appreciated. Thanks much!

New rifle to you? It sounds like the face of the extractor needs to altered to allow it move past the rim.
