extractor problem

i have a cooper m22 in 6br today the cases wouldnt extract even when not fired-i think[know] that the extractor claw is not picking the rim up, i think there is crud behind the claw -how to remove the claw without messing up?
thanks in advance

You probably bent the extractor and I would send the bolt or whole gun to someone familar with the cooper action. They have a different extractor and it is all there own unless they changed them.

Gary, I purchased a new Cooper in 6.5-284 caliber and when I started to sight it in, I could drop a cartridge in the chamber and close the bolt and the gun would fire but would not extract the case. After examination of the bolt, I discovered that whoever fitted the extractor, has filed most of the claw away.

I called Cooper 3 times before I found someone who didn't treat me like a moron and that person said to send the bolt back to them and they would take care of the problem. After a month long wait, the bolt arrived and worked fine.

The experience was frustrating to say the least but some of Cooper's people need some lessons in Customer Service and courtesy.

Take a close look at the claw---probably the same problem as mine. Just my $.02. Good luck

Ron

thanks for your help.
RON only problem sending the bolt back is the UK-USA postage
if it took you a month i dread to think how long it would take for me,i will try to contact cooper and see if they will play ball.
thanks .
