don't be afraid to use a belt sander to take a few thousandths off the top of a shell holder to get it to bump the shoulders back.

You have to LAP the Shellplate on a very flat surface like a corian counter top or marble or a tablesaw table and use 240 silicon carbide(3m wet or dry) and as you lap make ever changing figure 8's to avoid getting it flatter on one side than the other.

I'd rather take it off the bottom of the die...lot more meat there. Doesn't weaken anything.
