Need help with 243 win and H1000, 115DTAC

Hello,

Can someone please post some of their 243 loads with H1000 powder and 115DTAC. I just received my 25" 243 DTA 1:7.5 Benchmark barrel and would like to get some information on where to start. From what I read, shooters are using H4350 and H1000, with H1000 giving longer barrel life. Also, what is the COAL?

Thank you.

Not sure about h1000 but mine loves RL 25 45.4 grains is shooting 0.1 - 0.2's three and five shot 100 yard groups. Banging steel easily at 1100 yards. Scott

Just curious,,,what does the 115gr DTAC have over the Berger 105 Hybrid? I've wanted to ask this many times but never have. It appears to me the BC is a wash and the velocity difference would go to the Hybrid?

Availability. Check those meplats on your Dtacs. Mine caused 12" of vertical at 1000 yards unless I sorted them. When sorted I had 3" of vertical. Sent pics to Tubbs and have heard nothing. I'd go back to shooting them if Sierra would STOP pointing them and let me do it. You'll end up around 41.5 42.0gr with H4350 and 47.2-47.6 with H-1000.

I shoot 105 hybrids in my 6x47 lapua. Great bullet and super accurate. This is for my new 243 barrel and the dtacs were purchased a while back. I have about 3000 of them.

Your right about rl 25 burning out the barrel. Then again that's why the make more. The velocities I can achieve offset the cost. That's the fun part.

When I first got into long range bench rest, I did it with a Savage PTA, a Shilen pre-fit 243 WIN barrel and a used BVSS stock as well as a used 6-24 Sightron SII scope.

I started with H4350 and finally went with H1000 as the literature indicated a longer life for the barrel which I proved as the barrel still shot well when I replaced it with a 6BRX at 2500 rounds.

I used 46gr of H1000 behind 105 gr bullets. I used SMK, A-MAX and Hybrids with equal success. 46 gr is a max load as you can hear the powder crunch a bit during bullet seating.
I don't remember my COL, but the bullets were seated for 0.040 jump and the MV was right at 2900 fps with hBN.

Most folks I know have tried the 115 bullets but went back to the 105/108 range as the 115 is hard to get to shoot good.
