243 105 A-Max H1000

Hi there!

Im reloading for a Ruger RPR in 243. After 100 rounds the barrel settled down. Im seeing great results with IMR4350 @ 40.2g. Submoa out to 625yds. 201 rounds down the barrel now.

After much reading, I picked up some H1000. In hopes to prolong the barrel life. Im seeing people are using between 45g and 48g of H1000.

Are there accuracy nodes I should look for ? Any advice and load data is appreciated!

My .243 barrel is 28" shooting the faster node. Groups pretty good and I WILL make it better in the next month when I settle down and do some testing.I'm using H1000 with a 105 Hornaday bthp match bullet, 3150 FPS. When I ran the 200 pieces of brass thru the rifle the first time it chronographed at 2928 fps on round 6-10, at the end of the 200 it was 2948. This was the next node down from where I am currently at.

I've not tried H1000 in my .243 RPR. H4831SC is giving me 1/2 moa out to 500 meters with 107 SMKs and 105 VLDs. So far I haven't gotten much love with tha 105 Amax. MOA at best is hard to accept when the others are so much better. I'm probably around 1000 rounds through mine at this point.

I scoured the internet for more data on H1000 in the 243. Looks like 46gr is the go to. Im going to load some up next week. Im anxious to get some more load data on paper.

Good info! Going to start working up a load with 107 SMK with H1000.

Secondary question, where does the 107 SMK seem to shoot best in relation to the lands?
