I have noticed that there have been some posters who advocate the use of H1000 in the 243 W with 115 gr bullets to get exceptional velocity and better bbl life.
Running various charges of H1000 thru Quickload in a what if scenario don't indicated the velocity levels that the posters have cited.
Quickload shows 46 gr as a compressed load and just barely hitting 3000 fps with a 107 SMK.
My 243 SLR is used strictly for shooting 115 gr bullets and I was interested in the slower burning powders to try and perserve the throat of the bbl. H1000 (as far as Quickload is concerned) seems too slow and doesn't develop enough velocity.
