Need help/Suggestions/recommendations for scope refinishing

I have a used March 8-80x56 scope that has a lot of ring marks & wear; almost as if on repeated heavy recoil, the scope slid back & forth in the rings leaving highly visible wear marks on the main tube. Does anyone have any recommendations on who to send the scope to? I'd like to return it to it's "Former Glory"
Thanks in advance for any suggestions...March_8_80_56_Ring_Marks.jpg

Have you called March? That would probably be the best place to start...

For future reference, it's best to bed your scope rings. Especially with heavy recoiling rifles. Scope ring marks will never be a problem again after you learn how to properly bed rings.

Here was March's reply just the other day;

"Thank you for your inquiry.

As I mentioned before, we are afraid that we don't usually offer that kind of refinishing service. Because if we refinish your scope, it will cost over US$1000. It will be close to the price of a new scope.

If your scope has some problem in practical use, we will inspect and repair it.

We apologize for being unable to meet your request.

Typically, whenever I mount a scope, I use high quality rings of either Nightforce or Kelbly's matched-pair anodized rings. Before mounting, I cut pieces of the fingers from nitrile exam gloves, put half on ring bottom and half on top of scope under top ring, then torque rings to manufacturer specs. I've never personally had scope ring wear on any of my scopes after years of use.

Quality of the ring means nothing. They can all still leave ring marks when used on heavy recoiling rifles if not lapped and bedded properly. If you dont want to bed the rings, use a single wrap of black cloth hockey tape on the scope body. It's the next best thing to bedding. Extremely solid hold and will prevent any ring marks.

No worries mate,
Those ring marks are like a badge of honor.
