Need help re Remington 511 trigger

I have a Remington 511 that according to the date code was manufactured in 1948, I grew up with this gun and when my dad passed it moved to my house. It's a great shooting rifle considering I'm blind and it's 14 years older than me, but I have noticed when I'm working on the bench the trigger is inconsistent. One shot will break as clean as you can ask for, but the next will feel like it's dragging across a brick, the rifle has been thoroughly cleaned and lubricated, any ideas where to look?

I am not a gunsmith but I can work on minor problems and as long as I have a good grip on what I am doing not afraid to dig in. I may not be able to fabricate parts but if I can get a replacement part I can install it. Ok, ok, it may take me a try or ten, but with good instructions I can get it done.

Thanks in advance.

The 510 (single shot version) was my first .22, bought when LBJ was president.
My favorite version is the tubular feed Model 512.

Meant in the hope of saving you much frustration:
Really, if you don't have good knowledge about trigger/sear/striker engagement surfaces,
don't try to take these apart; The odds of making things worse aren't in your favor.
For such a simple, economy rifle, the trigger is rather difficult to work on.
Replacement parts are going to be very hit and miss; worn, or non-existent.
But, it's your rifle. Do a quarter of the cleanup you think is needed, then test.
Good luck.

Thanks for the input, not really trying to sweeten the trigger just looking for consistent, good or bad, I had a spare bolt that I found on eBay a while back, so I took the best parts from both and put them together. Function is fine and the trigger feels more consistent, I will check back after a session at the range.

Thanks again for the advice, it is appreciated.
