Need help from "Chassis Stock" Folks

Ever since "tube guns" came out I've looked at them. A bolt action that looks like an auto.... and today there is a bunch of them being made. It's probably the only type rifle that I have never owned. It's kinda like an itch that I can't scratch but thought I would ask for a little advice. I've several Remington actions, hard bottom and repeating, either trued or didn't need anything other than the bolts done that I could put in a chassis. Reasons I've not done it; absolutely no need for one, I'm too old for the PRS thing , everything I've learned since the 60s tell me that it won't improve accuracy over a proper bedding job in a proper stock, the for sale ads are always full of new or barely used ones usually at about half of what they cost new, I no idea what I will use it for, I've already got good short and long range IBS rifles, prairie dog rifles, hunting rifles, truck and tractor rifles... but I am still wanting one, either a single shot or a mag fed one. Don't know what caliber as I have both small and 308 bolt faces.... I may just be wanting a new project, what say y'all, thanks John

Buy a KRG 'Bravo'. PM me for the best place I've found to purchase one.

The KRG Bravo is an excellent way to try the chassis thing without spending a bunch. (I have four of them, and various other chassis setups costing WAY more. The Bravo kicks alpha sierra sierra for the money.)

Do a search for Cigar Cop's and Preacher's stocks look at all the nice stocks they do and you will forget about aluminum and plastic stocks, well maybe not but it works for me. When i go to Doan Tavor's web site its almost a sexual experience for me. But hen i was a carpenter for over 40 years.

I've been building on MDT since they first went public. Currently
I like the Oryx as the back bone for my customs. Here's one from
this past weekends score shoot at Anderson Creek. Not much of
a tube gun fan. Just a straight up, open top v-block, stock and get
creative from there.

I thought you still dabbled?

3 MPA Chasis's, 2 KRG Bravo's, 2 MDT Oryx Chassis's. If I had to choose 1 it would be tough. The MPA is the heaviest if you like the extra weight and has the Rat Rail machined into it. The other 2 if you want a rail you have to get the Arca rail and mount it. Of course all 3 have accessories available.

Yea Ive got 6 sheets of prefinished maple I am cutting up right now. that will make a nice lady very happy and it will be my last, unless I get a call from the ranch i work on. I told the lady in PBG that if she would get someone else to do the cabinets i would let her slide on paying me for 2 days last week installing doors. She says nothing doing mister I have your money waiting on you. In the few days in between I fitted an extractor to a Remington 514, cleaned up the stock and waxed it and reassembled and guess what? It works! Took an Arisaka apart and steamed dents and scrapped the old messed up varnish off, and orded new bottom metal as it was broken. When finished with cabinets< I think I am full time fixing all my projects that are waiting on me to get time.
