Ocular (eyepiece) setting for farsighted folks.

After cataracts I have lens implants. Makes it pretty hard to focus a scope properly. I usually have the adjustment out as far as it will go and still not have a perfect picture. Getting old. However, I can see a fly at 1000 yards with a naked eye. LOL.
I had cataract/ implants last month. WOW! My scopes were turned way out, now in the middle. And I can see a fly turd at a 1000. Mike.

Adding an auxiliary lens such as one of the Bulls x pros will shorten the focal length of the eyepiece. Adding one requires turning the eyepiece in to focus the reticle which effectively increases the range of adjustment for a farsighted person.

Aside from age, I've a little different problem. I can get the reticle nice and clear, but when shooting, I will see 2 verticle crosshairs. It is my understanding that you should focus on the cross hairs not on the target. Some scopes are worse than others and the higher the power the worse. I do have astigmatism. Sometimes I can focus it out using the AO, but that ususlly makes the target out of focus. Please don't say "live with it".

I feel you might benefit from something I last posted nearly a year ago. There's more to adjusting a scope at both ends than meets the eye:

Several years back there was a company that sold a low power booster that screwed into the ocular where the screw in lens caps go. For me it didn't work at all. I returned it and only purchased the frame and no glass. I took the frame to my optometrist along with my scope and told him what I wanted to do. He's made me different types of shooting glasses over the years so this was nothing new for him.

Beside having bifocals, I have a double astigmatism. He was able to figure out what I needed and sent the frame to whoever makes the lens. When I put it on the scope it worked perfectly. I did not shoot with glasses any longer.

Since that time, I had eye surgery and now have to start over. I've looked for the company name, but haven't located it yet.
