I need a bit of help!
Most 30-06 brass weighs in the range of 190 to 200 grains, depending on the manufacturer and the lot. Load data is developed with that in mind and is pretty reliable.
This weekend, I found two,2) pieces of S&B,Sellier & Bellot) 30-06 brass at the range and took them home. To my amazement, they weigh 175 grains. That would really require a change in loads, but interestingly, might allow charges of 4831 with heavy bullets that I can't fit into normal brass. I max out on case capacity about 2 grains below what it would take to reach SAAMI max pressure using 4831, so this is potentially interesting.
My problem, of course, is that I only have those two pieces. If any of you have some S&B 30-06 brass, could you please weigh it and post your results? It would be best if it's weighed without a primer, but if you weigh with a primer just note that in your post. I'm not looking to buy any brass, just gatehring data. Thanks!
