Need advice on Rem 700 .223 bottom metal

Kind of budget restrained, so looking for cheapest solution.

Had a Rem 700 .223 on a KRG Bravo, but put a .243 on that chassis instead. Don't know much about bottom metals.. I just got a good deal on a Bergara stock to put the .223 in, but I don't think it has the right BM. The follower that came with it is too large to slide in the 'box', so something is wrong there I think, seller doesn't have a clue either. I just want to get the barrel/action mounted on a stock so it's functional.

So do I just need a new box that has the 'spacer' in it, and then a .223 follower?

Yes, a 223 box and follower are different. The Remington box is blocked in the rear and the follower is shorter.

Their return policies are a bit hard to swallow.. You think there's any reason it shouldn't work in a bergara stock & bottom metal?
