Need advice for long range bipod type.

Hello to all!
I need some advices for choicing my long range bipod.
I tink to buy one F-TR style bipod but I'm not understand for the type of the bipod structure to choice.
Is better the TierOne FTR style bipod or better is a Sinclair F-Class style bipod?
I'm wrong on the two and is better the Taloon Mark 7 style bipod?
Dolphin AB Carbon Fiber style bipod surclass all the above styles?

Hello, Rempel bipods are not availlable on EU, no info about seller on EU...

But mi first trouble is what is the major differences about this different type of bipods.

I'm not competitor, but I would to compete into some club competition.

There are two general classes of bipods. First there are what I would refer to as "traditional" bipods, meaning similar in appearance and function to a Harris/Atlas bipod. This type of bipod is often "pre-loaded", meaning pressure put on the rifle, and the resistance of the rubber feet to that pressure, tends to help prevent movement of the rifle during the recoil impulse. Then there are those bipods that use "ski-", or "sled-type" feet that are meant to slide freely front to back during the recoil impulse. Each type can work, and each type has its particular caveats that must be overcome in order to master its use.

The main caveat to the use of traditional bipods is that consistent pressure must be used when pre-loading the bipod. Otherwise, increased vertical dispersion is the likely result. The main caveat to the use of ski-type bipods is that the rifle/bipod must track straight back during the recoil impulse. Otherwise, increased lateral dispersion is the likely result. Beyond that, the choice of which to use is often a matter of personal preference, although stock design may also play a role (i.e. angle of the toe). A highly angle toe means that the muzzle will be pointing well above the target at the end of the recoil impulse with a ski-type bipod. Thus, it is usually necessary to push the rifle back forward after a shot to bring the muzzle back down on target. Pre-loading a traditional bipod is intended to minimize such movement.

Over time, the majority of F-TR shooters have gravitated toward the ski-type bipods. I am one of the few remaining dinosaurs that choose to use a traditional bipod. I use the Long Range Accuracy F- Class bipod, which has a much wider footprint than the original Harris/Atlas bipods in order to help resist rifle torque. B&T Industries now makes some Atlas bipods that also have a much wider footprint than their original offerings.

Some of the ski-type bipods that are popular with F-TR shooters would include the Phoenix, the Duplin Jeff Rorer Spec bipod, the Dolphin, and the original Sinclair F-Class bipod. An additional concern with any of these bipods for F-TR shooters is their weight, as the bipod weight is included in the total weight of the rifle setup.

I've email ed with Mr. Rempel, that are very gentlemen, but not have distribution on EU and the final price, duty and import tax included, are very expensive and for me is more convenient buy some other brands for similar type of bipods.

As I mentioned in the earlier post, I do not routinely use a ski-type bipod. I own a Duplin, but have always preferred using my traditional LRA bipod, pre-loaded. As such, I think you would be much better off listening to opinions on the ski-type bipods in your list from those that regularly use them. I have some familiarity with the Dolphin and the Joypod, but none at all with the other brands listed. Obviously, making weight is a big deal, as is the ability to track properly. But there are likely other features on each brand of bipod that may be of particular benefit. Those feature(s) would best be highlighted by someone actually using that particular brand.

I have used both styles; the folding Harris, Sinclair FTR, and Tier One FTR. The Tier One is the best of the three. Easy to adjust for elevation, tracks well, is very light to help make weight, and less expensive than the Phoenix. You can order it for Pic rail mounting or slotted style rail/sling swivel.

certainly asking the people who frequent the shooting range directly would help me considerably but I don't understand why most of them are very jealous of their experiences....

The Tier One is the more expensive of the bipods that I've mentioned, but is the best of the 3!
Phoenix and other USA/CA brabds are not sold on the EU.
Dolphin UK are out of the EU and I pay duty for import on Italy, about 30% more than the cost + shipping!
