So what other scales have you tried?4xforfun said:I used the RCBS 505 for years. Just updated to a 10-10. Not any more accurate, but the beam stablizes faster!! I can't figure out why one would need anything else.
Larry, I don't sort my brass at all. I have not found a repeatable method that I can prove to myself works. I tried water, powder, exc. when I would redo the same case I always got slightly different numbers. I have no issues with vertical at 1k with un-sorted brass. If your in the node .1gn wont show up on target, if your not .1gn can be 3".savagedasher said:Good scales to me are the one that weights water grains of the case most accurate. Till that happens nothing else matters. Why put in a single kernel of powder in a case that isn't the same from one to the other. First size the case and trim to length next check the water grain capacity
then a kernel of powder matters. Larry

jamesh said:You are mistaken the accuracy and resolution of the model 64 is is .ooo1 grams or .1 mg. , slightly over .015 grains.
Wouldn't want people running out and buying the scale based on the misinformation.

What is the easiest way to cut a kernel of Varget into 3/4 or 1/3 of a kernel?brian427cobra said:jsthntn247 said:I hear the Promethius is nice and accurate
My Gen1 was accurate to 3/4 kernel of Varget, I could charge a case every 20-25 seconds, my Gen2 is accurate to less than 1/3 kernel of Varget, and will charge a case every 8-12 seconds.

YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE REPLIES ARE BASED ON.
i do not believe a std 10-10 or 505 will suffice for 1000 br competition.
excellent for hunting loads, and even short range br......

HMMM....I got a hell of a pile of wood...including THREE different IBS national 1000 yard championship trophies....including the two gun overall, that prove otherwise!!! And that is with the 505!!! In fact, I think only once since I started compeating in 2008 have I placed out of the top 10 in the two gun overall at the nationals.
I would reconsider your position on this matter.
Just sayin....

Yes I now have a 0.015gr accurate mag. force balance.
Yes, I now use Wilson in line seating die.
Yes I measure each cartridge for seating force.
Yes, I do careful neck sizing.
Yes I have a tuner on my guns.
All the above has made my guns shoot better and I get more club ribbons,
BUT!!!
I HAVE REMOVED ALL MY EXCUSES!!
You made the correct decision and if you want to sell it after 60 days just PM me. Also combine it with a Omega Powder Trickler to be really amazed with the results.D2x shooter said:Well fellow shooters the research is done and the results have been tabulated - I bought the AND FX 120i. Now you all should realize that when ever I make a purchase, what ever I buy will be replaced by a new model within 60 days.
Thank you for the lively banter.
