Need 9mm Luger Plinking Load

What other powders ya got??

3.5gr get ya 2000rds.. out of a pound

Your Lee press- will load till you get tired of loading…

I have some universal (clays) I think, that I will use up on my 40SW.

Everything else I have is small quantity and rifle.

I do have five ish pounds of 700x though...older shotgun powder.

And I don't have the Lee (yet). I have a Dillon 550 but I set it up for rifle, and will eventually set it up for 40SW. I have 7-8K brass for that. But daughter is getting a 9mm. I am NOT funding factory ammo for her practice. I have a line on about 6K brass for that.

I filled a GI 223 ammo box with 9mm..it’ll hold 1335rds … and close the lid..
So that won’t even be a pound of powder..
Buy the bullets in bulk-1000/ 5000/ at time, it’s cheaper… in today’s market, the primers will be the most expensive thing..

Good shooting snert !!!

Yes I have run 700x in my progressive loading 9mm. For general plinking and steel I use RMR 124gr HP bullets. Buy'm 1-2000 at a time

Thanks guys!

As a followup question...

I have a pile of 700X. Anyone successful throwing it in a Lee or similar progressive?

Otherwise I will bite the bullet...and buy a ball powder.

Oh, and anyone using the Lee 4000 progressive? I don't need fancy, just suitable.
I always buy, a good Ball Powder for ANY, "Use" that, I can use it for, as it "Throws" out of a Measure or, Lil' Dandy so, well and it and will save, a lot of, Time when, Reloading.
Staball 65 is awesome, in my 6.5 Creedmoor ( 130 to 143 gr. bullets ) and in my son's 7MM-08 ( with "Heavies" of, 150 to 168 gr, bullets ) and I use, W-231 in my .38 Spl or, 9 MM ( I use, AA #7 W/147's ).
I found "Flake Powders" tend to "Bridge",. sometimes ! I really liked Unique a lot, in Pistol Ctg's but, after Testing & Weighing, a Bunch of Charges, NOT any more ! So I would suspect that, 700X could be, Similar.
BUT,.. Weigh, a bunch to, Test for yourself to, be,.. SURE ! Avoid MAX charges with, any Flake Powder, IF "Thrown",... IMO !

Starting to grab up brass in anticipation of loading for daughters 9MM Sig.

I will NOT be pouring my own lead, so mold reference is not helpful...

I am looking for advice on a simple, "inexpensive" plink and practice load in 9MM. I will be loading on either a 550 Dillon or a Dillon press specific to that caliber. I need bullet suggestions (company and type or reference #) as well as load data.

Thanks in advance for your PET load for reliable plinking.

Thanks for the data guys.

Two more questions...700X? Anyone with experience throwing it in a progressive?

Secondly, anyone using the Lee 4000 progressive? I need useful, not fancy...

Snert
Yep, you can definitely load 700X in 9 mm with 4.2 gr either 115 or 124 mix or max with respect to COAL. Cheap 10 cent bullets shipped some fmj some premium HP 2nds all jacketed any primer.
Works great in the 550 Dillon as does the 380 ACP.
My Glock likes em on the hotter side to function 100%. With Autocomp and 50 gr copper HP you can run 2000 fps and very light recoil...that operates slide...easy on new and old shooters.
