neck turning

I have some brass I think would benefit from neck turning, however when I try it either won't cut at all, ie the cutter is not touching the brass or it cuts the entire neck. Put another way, I am unable to just "clean it up", or get my trimmer set where it only cuts about 60-70% of the neck area.
Thanks Miles

What kind of a trimmer and expanding mandrel are you using? What brass are you turning? After it is fired in a good chamber it will be very concentric, if you try turning without sizing and expanding you will get the results your talking about. It is important to size the neck with a non-bushing die, expand with the same make of expander as your turner and even with the best of the Lapua brass you should have no problem taking a 70% cleanup cut.

I have a question as to turning necks, I don't have a problem with all of my calibers 30 caliber or smaller but I recently purchased a forster neck tuning tool for my 375 h&h and I don't have a expander for that large of caliber and I don't know of any one who makes one.
Any suggestions? Thanks RW
