Neck tension on 6br

I have some brass that will not hold the bullet after neck sizing only. Is this common and will annealing solve the problem? I should add that I have sized about 200 other pieces of this brass and they are holding the bullet with the right neck tension. I bought the Lapua brass used. They were separated in lots of 50 and this lot of 50 has loose neck tension and will not hold the bullet after neck sizing.

There are two basic types of 6BR Lapua brass out there. They are commonly referred to as gold box, and blue box, based on the box they were originally delivered in. My 6BR brass is gold box, not turned, and I use a 0.267 bushing to size them. I believe the blue box stuff has brass that is a little thinner in the neck thickness. You may have a mix of blue and gold box brass. Or someone has turned some of it down. In any case the solution is simple if you have a bushing die -- got to go smaller!

Since the brass is used, you have no idea how many cycles it's been through. I would try annealing first before buying a new bushing.
