Neck tension/lag time

How many days ahead of time is acceptable to load for matches or load development? Is it true that the case will acquire additional grip on the bullet over time. Can this lead to inconsistant neck tension and affect match accuracy? I believe it does but need your opinion.
Was going to produce various loads for development during these cold winter nights for trial later but thought better of it.
Any actual experience on this?

Last Dec. I shot a match in LaGrande using my 30BR. The ammo I used was loaded exactly one year before. It shot great and I got a respectable 250-20X with it.

Last Fall, in Sept. I shot a TCL shoot off match match with four different lots of leftover ammo from the previous Summer. This was using brass from 4 different barrels. Some of it had been loaded for 4 months. I shot a 250-23X with my HBR rig.

I preload for all my matches and sometimes it is several weeks before I shot the match. Have never seen a problem.

Ron,
Thanks for the reply. Guess I'll go ahead and load up for development work. Should get some decent weather soon.

Jerry -- With my orange 6.5-284 I HAD to load 24hrs+ AHEAD of a match.

the way it was tuned, freshly loaded cases would go 1MOA+ vertical at 1K...PRELOADED rounds would go into 0.5MOA vertical. All this with only 0.0005 neck tension.

I think the neck tension gets more consistant with preloading...To a point.

My first year at 1KBR, I was shooting Terry Rowles' 30-hart at Williamsport...ammo from the prior season...shot the smallest group ever with that gun: 6.0xx" 10-shot.

Shippensburg G-Hog Match...same orange 6.5 from above...,my groundhog match article: http://www.6mmbr.com/500mGroundhog.html )...The ammo i shot the 1.350 500M group with had been loaded several weeks prior.

So i wouldnt fear old ammo...just wouldnt mix new ammo in with old ammo in a group.
