Neck reaming?

How well would it work if a .262 neck was opened to a no turn neck? Wondering about keeping the reamer straight. Maybe better to cut off and rechamber? This is for a used 6PPC.

IF, you had a good slip fit bushing on the larger neck reamer, you should be OK doing it....
The 2 reamers must be EXACTLY the same dimensions, with the exception of the neck diameter, or all bets are off.......

Just asking a simple question here but why would you want a no turn PPC? Theres a reason we turn necks on em. If you like a thick neck go to a .268 like most shooters have.

Barrel has a high round count. Just looking to have a plinker without turning necks. This brass is toasted.

If the throat's already eroded, cutting back the threads & re-chambering will do more for longer than just opening up the neck.

a gunsmith who has neck reamers (that use bushings) can easily do what you are asking. Most of the time is spent dialing the barrel in, then it's a 5 minute job. I had a few folks with 6x47L barrels where the neck was several thousandths tighter than advertised (mis-labeled Grizzly reamer). Opened them up to .276 for them: simple job with the right neck reamers.

If "high round count" equates to bad throat, the new neck ain't gonna help anything except let you use unturned brass.
