Gentlemen,
I have been testing out a new lubricant that I received when I was at the 2015 USASOC sniper competition. The product is called NDL 360 and I told the vendor that I'd write up a review once I have finished up the bottle and ran it through its paces with hard testing. So here is my take on it...
I met Mr. Jesse Saucier of Carolinas first defense (the only distributor of NDL 360 at this time) at the 2015 comp in April. I was very lucky as I caught him talking to another competitor and saw him hand the shooter a bottle. Curiosity struck and I scrambled over asking what this product was. He had one more bottle to hand to me and gave me a brochure with a quick run down on this new lube.
Now before I get into the product, Jesse is an avid competitor himself and shoots for the Carolina highway patrol. Having been to numerous comps and an instructor himself, I am not sure how this company reached out to him. But reach out they did and after some pressing got him to test out the lubricant.
about NDL 360, you can google it right now and besides a link to this review, you wont find much. The main company, NDL360.com has only two testimonials on their website (under the NDL 360 CLP section). Their team of chemists made a lubricant that was designed for big heavy machinery and claims they use "nano diamond" technology which will disperse and really get into all the pores and all around the metal its trying to lubricate. I'm assuming they had a vision to push this out into the firearms industry and thus created their CLP version. I'm not a chemist so I'm not going to talk about the spraying of unicorn tears or nano diamonds
. As mentioned the company reached out to Jesse and got him to be a distributor after they made a believer out of him. I asked him about his own personal testing and the short end is that this is all his team uses now for lubricant. I asked about POI shifts and chrono readings; they reported slightly faster speeds with some rifles but not enough to make a solid determination if its from the lube OR from a stringent cleaning & the lube.
This product has been amazing. I normally use fireclean as it has a great track record, especially with heavy fouling materials like suppressors and automatic rifles. But there was some things fireclean couldnt do like spray out and get everywhere I needed it to get like inside the bolt, trigger system, hard to reach places inside the action, etc. For my handguns, I can spray NDL360 inside the slide and rub on with a dry patch to smooth it out.
I even used this product to fix squeaky door hinges. Out of curiosity I took 1 spray to a door hinge. Let it sit for 3 seconds later and squeak was gone. It really gets into everything it sprays onto. I used to have to disassemble my pistol slide completely to be able to access my extractor but now I can just clean it out with carb cleaner and spray with NDL.
I will post Jesse Saucier's info below and his website is the only place you can purchase this at this time. But for me personally, I will keep fireclean on hand because its cheaper and when I need to control where my lube goes and not waste sprays of it to go everywhere. But I will now supplement my fireclean with NDL 360 CLP as its proven invaluable as far as application and use that fireclean itself cannot do. If they did make a drip bottle version I might phase out fireclean completely (not because I believe it to be inferior or that NDL 360 is Gods greatest gift to the shooting sports) but just for simplicity.
