Nat'l Firearms Background Check Law Intro

So ill have a go at these questions
1. Required class to buy a gun. No-I see a lot of people with drivers licenses that have no idea how to drive and on top of that are burried in there cell phones behind the wheel. They know its wrong but do it anyway.
2. The government should control education. You have seen common core math right. We control our own destiny, the club or range should ensure that people are safe. This is where the training should happen. First time shooters at a new range or club should have to satisfy the range officer. That is a judgement call on the person to what level they expect or demand.
3. There should be control on gun transfers. I feel if you have a CCP then you have already been vetted by the government to the maximum level required. You are responsible for your own actions and should ask some reasonable questions. If you dont feel comfortable use a FFL.
4. Any transfer should go through a FFL. Washington has just enacted some of the most ridiculous gun laws i have seen , to the point if you hand your rifle to a buddy while opening the door to your truck its considered an official transfer. That level of oversight and law is just beyond stupid.

So what if it’s mandatory to have passed a thourough medical exam and have a spotless past medical/background history in order to receive this “safety certificate “ ever been prescribed anti depressants, you may not qualify to own a firearm
Don’t have 20/20 vision? May not qualify....ever been to a AA meeting? May not qualify
Over 65? May not qualify? Ever been arrested? May not qualify......
the list goes on and on...who do you think is going to make the rules? Diane, Nancy, Lucy????..
This sounds just like what was said about hunting safety course
40 year later and far less injuries and deaths while hunting it wrong then and right today
On top of tha u can use it to get you cc permit

And just as another rambling why is this not part of a basic life skills class that is required in high school. I had to watch a condom put on a plastic mbr, why is basic gun safety not taught. I might be running off topic but high schools supposed to get you ready to enter adult life and is failing entirely.

But i was aiming for a good even coat of everyone getting some basics. Thats what school is about. Hell i would be satisfied with them just hammering the 4 basic safety rules.

You may have a bit of a wait for that.
Not long ago I was told the 3 Rs...what you and I might remember as readin', ritin', and 'rithmatic,
are now: refuse, reduce, reuse.

Good Luck

I no what you are saying ,the government will screw it up for sure. On a smaller scale though we need to educate the young ones coming up.

I agree, absolutely, but it should be done in school or at home or by voluntarily taking training. In my opinion it should not be a mandatory criteria to buy or possess a firearm.
Spent a day or two at a
Public range and you change your mind

I have. I didn't. I won't.

So, since you think that mandatory training and having a license will make gun ownership safer, please explain why so many people that are trained and have a license, wreck their vehicles.

Plain and simple. I'm comparing drivers training to firearms training. I want you to tell me why young people take drivers training in school, then study and take and pass a test to be allowed to drive and still wreck? If training and testing works so great why do so many people fail?

Next, since you believe that the government wants to make it mandatory to do a background check to make things safer for all of us..... So if the government really and truly wanted all of us to be safer, why do they allow people to talk on the phone while driving? Why haven't they outlawed that yet?

I will address one part of at a time first one you answer your self gun ranges

Second the take only what the have to take to get a license
That isn’t how it was when I got mine
We have back ground check for honest gun owners now
People who don’t care about the law no law will change that
First we must fix the criminal justice system
I like requiring everyone to have a gun safety course
Before being able to own or shoot a gun
That will include people who don’t
Most of our complaints on gun is people who don’t know nothing about them
They fear the unknown

I don't know where you live but talking or texting while driving has been against the law in many states for years now, as is distractive driving in general. If your state does not have that law I am sure it's just a matter of time. Have seen several employees (in the auto industry) let go for text/talk tickets.

It is in my state the penalty is $ 50.00
Personal I think it should be $500.00
And 3 points on your drivers license
Or On the first time Spend 40 hours at the emergency ward
I don’t have any problem being tough on law violations

No, they only fear that they exist. The mere thought of guns existing in society scares them, so they want the guns gone. Requiring law abiding citizens to take a test so they can exercise their right, only creates another restriction.....

They think-just jump up and start shooting
I can’t tell you how many of kids I have helped to teach about gun

I live in PA. We are allowed to talk while driving. No texting while driving and no talking or texting if you drive a commercial vehicle, unless it's hands free (I think).

But, imagine that. All that education out there. All the money spent on research to tell you just how oblivious you are if you text or talk while driving. They can even tell you how far you traveled at a certain speed in the amount of time it takes to read the average text and yet people still do it. The government did all the work, gave the citizens and the information. Required the training to get the license. Passed the laws against it and yet people still do it and people still die doing it or die because someone else was doing it. Guess what, the testing didn't work.

It's good that you teach kids about guns. I have taught kids about guns too. I have also taught adults about guns. I have taken people that have never fired a gun and taught them to shoot..... I still don't think it should be mandatory to own one.

The penalty isn’t severe enough .
