Nat'l Firearms Background Check Law Intro

I don’t see why everyone shouldn't have to get certified to own a gun
Doctors electrician plumbers truck drivers and the list go on all have to
Why shouldn’t a person to own a gun

Perhaps I misunderstood your post. Teaching kids gun safety in school - where I first learned it in an afterschol activity class - is a good thing.. a law requiring me to take a class in order to own a firearm is not a good thing.

Dead on, bullseye, absolutely, correct

There are bad people in the world who would shoot your neighbors car even though its against the law, they aren't supposed to be shooting in city limits or whatever. The criminal element does not care about cards or compliance or if they are shooting after dark. There are folks out there that didn't listen when their Ma told them not to smoke cigarettes. We have a responsibility to teach our families and others we care about.
I always say you can’t fix stupid
Not even will duck tape

I sincerely hope you are just trolling for a response, but in the event that is a genuine issue for you, Please tell me
Where in the US Constitution is it stated the right to be a truck driver shall not be infringed.

A more practical answer is this: That I own a firearm in and of itself neither impacts, nor effects anyone but me. A truck on the road has the potential to be a hazard to anyone, and everyone if the rules stipulated when granting the privilege to drive said truck are not followed.

Because gun ownership didn't start out as a recreational thing..... It started out as a way to fight tyranny. So, if we ever need to fight tyranny, should we have to pass a test (given by the government we will likely have to fight) before we can take up arms?

I wonder what our founding fathers would say about this thread/conversation..... I could just see George Washington leaning over and whispering to Thomas Jefferson as the bill of rights was read, "hey Tom, you should have added a clause in the second amendment about a safety class" o_O.

Good grief, wake up..... a class would do nothing but lead to more restrictions!

A pity there is but one like button.

There are lots of bad doctors, plumbers, and electricians. A license doesn't make them all good or honest at what they do. While the vast majority of these folks are great at what they do, some are not, and their license don't make these types any better. Back to my point about a driver's license, which is by far the most universal license in the world. Do driver's license make driver's obey all traffic rules, thus avoiding wrecks or accidents on the highway? No they do not. Forcing someone to get a document in order to qualify for a constitutional right will never get my support

No, I meant the NHRA, the National Hot Rod Association which has a relationship with automobiles similar to the NRA does (or at least should) with firearms.
If NHTSA mean National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, then you completely missed my point.
The NHRA is an auto racing organization not an advocate for automobiles in general. Do you belong to the NHRA??? I own 3 automobiles and am not and never will be a member of the NHRA. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever been asked to join the NHRA even though I’ve been a racing enthusiast as long as I’ve been a gun enthusiast.

I guess what I’m trying to say is your comparison makes no sense and pretty much proves my point.

OK; fair point that the NHRA isn't an advocacy group for all motorsports, but it's not a regulatory agency like the NHTSA.

Sir, you are absolutely correct. Thank God that our founding fathers understood what government could and would do, in order to force their will upon others. The constitution that they framed is the only reason that we have been able to keep many of the freedoms we enjoy.

The point I’m trying to make is
If everyone had to take a gun safety course
We wouldn’t have the fear of the unknown
Everyone that is crying for gun control do know anything about a gun .
And I think half of the gun owners
Don’t realize what gun safety is
Education of all can help

No matter what may or may not ever be agreed upon or negotiated with regards to "common sense gun control " it is still a game of " Just the Tip ". Because once they start it in the rest will just follow.

Strong public capital punishment would go a long ways in today society to deter criminal behavior in general. As far a my common sense goes it costs way to much money to keep some , raping ,molesting , dope dealing, murdering , robbing criminal piece of shit behind bars.
I'd be willing to buy a raffle ticket to pull the lever at the gallows.

Wouldn’t it be great if the gun owners
Were the people who as for it
I wonder how the anti gun people would like to have to take the class

This is what you typed:

“Ever hear the NHRA say: "That's way more horsepower than a car needs "?”

My point, that continues to elude you, is that your sentence only makes sense if you replaced NHRA with NHTSA. Get it????
