I just thanked a Vietnam veteran yesterday, he served in the Air Force. Thank you ladies and gentlemen for your service and sacrifice to our country!

My brother served as a combat Medic in Vietnam, with the Riverine force. He is 75 now, and his memories are still vivid.

Thanks to all who served in the Vietnam war! I have an uncle who served, two tours and did a lot of intense combat in the tunnels. I only ever saw him talk about it twice, both times while sitting around the fire at deer camp. I was in my teens at the time, the emotion and details that he shared about his experiences as always stuck with me, I’ll never forget it. Today he suffers from PTSD, it’s affected him his whole life since returning. I don’t think I can ever fully appreciate those who have experienced war first hand but I hold them in the highest regards, they have my deepest gratitude.

I think the way so many Vietnam vets were treated upon their return is one of the biggest black eyes our country’s ever had. Absolutely tragic. They are heroes, all. Thanks.

I had a close friend killed a Khe Shah. He was only 19 years old. Visiting the wall was a deeply emotional experience for me.

I was in the Army 70 -72 but was one of the lucky ones that wasn't deployed. But I can remember coming through the Pittsburgh Airport, in uniform, and young people calling me a "baby killer."

All of us who served during that time ended up with a "black eye", at that time which is a national shame. A soldier just does his duty, he is not a politician. I was just a soldier. Even though the time wasn't the best, the Army was one of the best experiences of my life. It taught me a lot of life lessons that I have used my entire life.

I personally thank all of those who served during that time and especially those who served in country. God Bless all of you for your service.

Along with the MedEvac chopper pilots, and we lost a lot of them trying to get the wounded out.
