NAARGC Gun Club Range Views

This is our all weather building with heat and ac and our outside bench's. I'm a little bias but think my club is one of the nicest in the state. Off to the left and out of the picture is a 3-D archery range and a large stocked pond. on the other side of the rifle range is a pistol range. Then we have two skeet fields and a wobble trap field and yet another pond. There are two "warming houses" with restrooms and cold drinks and also a main clubhouse with a full kitchen and showers. That is where we hold our club meetings and functions.

Is that the manufacturer "North American"? (Or ex-manufacturer...)

Didn't know they were still around.

Not sure what your asking me??? Our club was founded by a bunch of Aerospace engineers years ago. I doubt any of them are still living. IIRC this location is the third time the club has moved but we've been in this location over 20yrs.

I guess they had some presence in the Tulsa area:

In 1967, North American Aviation merged with Rockwell Standard Corporation to form North American Rockwell, which later became Rockwell International. Rockwell International did have operations in Tulsa, specifically at the former Douglas plant (Air Force Plant No. 3), where it manufactured and modified aerospace products after the war

I'm not up on the history of the club as for the founding members but its very possible/probable that several of them came from Douglas. I'll ask some questions and see if I can find out more info. We still have a few members that have been there longer than me. Not many but a few.

I talked to the club President. He said engineers from the old North American started our club in 1963. Dang I didn't know that.

North American Aviation built the P-51 Mustang (and the F-86, B-25, and several other noteworthy planes.)

Sounds like it's the same group. Or at least was the same group when the range/club started

As an aside, a bit of research shows that North American was bought up by Rockwell. The company I worked for (my first "real" job), Kaiser Aerospace (we built head-up displays for primarily tactical aircraft, but also built the system for the Space Shuttle), was also bought up by Rockwell.
