DC/N.VA area Shooting Opportunities?????

Considering a move east to work within the DC beltway & living in Northern VA.

Wondering what kind of mid range-long range shooting ranges there are to participate in matches at. A review of a VA range location site, does not show it to be too promising. And Quantico looks pretty dang restrictive regarding civilan shooting times if one can join the club.

Any other options out there besides driving North to PA?

about 2 hours east will put you out to Bridgeville DE. they are gonna finish their 1k soon i hope. but have very nice 600 range. quantico is about the only 1k in the area but they are used by the VFEMI and Quantico shooting club. Two seperate groups, not necessarily playing well together all the time. bu the ranges are nice at Qtown. The 1k is a mirage range the flags are not useful most of the time. i hope this helps.

there is the rivanna rifle/pistol/shotgun club in charlottesville, va. it's also about 2 hrs southwest of d.c. they have a lot of competitions there, just not benchrest and long range. there is also a shooting range west of baltimore, but not sure of the competitions there either. I think there is a club around richmond, va, that does score shoots for benchrest, not sure what the name of it is, I have not attended yet.

FairFax VA. , Here at Bridgeville the 600yd is real nice and the 1,000yd should be done real soon plus we have a 1,2 and 300yd range plus pistol ranges.
