N150 Gamble...

Whidden has N 150 in stock. It seems to work well in the 6 Dasher. Should I take the risk and order an 8 lb keg? Nobody has Varget, and I want to shoot the rifle when it arrives this week.

Yes it will work. I use it in my 6mmbr.

I like it,shot my first screamer at 600 yards with it in a straight 6br, also started with it in the 6 Dasher and have come very close to an inch or under so far. The new stuff has the anti coppering agent and is a bit faster than the old version, burns a bit cooler than Varget too.

I think the sweet spot is closer to N140 but I’ve gotten awesome results from N150 also.

Check with Midsouth shooters supply, they had varget in stock a few days ago & have free Haz Mat going on now.

thank you freebird22/250. We share a liking for the 22-250, I have a LV weight barrel on a Ruger #1.

Best price I found on an 8lb keg of Varget shipped to SW Idaho is about $135 more than the N-150.
With my RAM Eco Diesel that's three trips to shoot Rockchucks and dangle a worm in front of Trout (I know, that is heresy) for two days camping out.

I switched to N150 in my 6BR after I couldn't find Varget; won't be going back to Varget. Depending on which barrel and bullet (103gr Vapor Trail / Berger 105 / Scenar-L 105) I run 29.7 - 30.3 of N150.

The issue that tipped me to VV140 vs VV150 is the emailer kernel size of 140. The smaller kernel size allows u to measure to a smaller target. 150 is harder due to the larger kernel size.

If it meters easier, then that is a + factor for me. The BR is a small case and small changes make a difference. Suit yourself.
