Turbulent Turtle
F-TR competitor
One problem with long barreled rifles used in F-class is finding a case that fits them well and protects them. I was looking for a soft case to replace the one that I had been using for the last few years. My current F-TR .308 has a 32 inch barrel and the PR&T stock has the buttplate extended out about a half-inch. It pushes hard on the zipper and as such, this does not protect the butt or the muzzle.
I just received a case from John Homatas at prone2success.com and I am astonished, in a very pleasing way, with this case. The workmanship is absolutely first class as are the materials used in the construction and there is some thought put into the design. For instance, the zipper only starts halfway up the buttplate when the rifle is placed in it; this way there is no pressure placed on the zipper and there is no danger of the rifle exiting the case when you unzip it or if it's not zipped properly.
There is a pocket on the side where I placed a few ECIs, and other important stuff. The carrying strap is a wide solid design that should not dig into your shoulder if you use it.
The padding is very substantial and is present at the muzzle as well as the butt, below where the zipper starts.
And what I like the most is the tag that says: Made in the USA.
I'm looking forward to the next match in 3 weeks.
