My new, old 22LR

I found this the other day at a shop that I teach CCW classes. I thought it was a copy of an old 22 and I bought it because it was cute. I came to find out that it is an old Steven’s Crackshot 26. It is in very nice shape. I think it was a good deal at $40.

You probably didn't get hurt at all. True Gun Values website doesn't show any recent sales that were below $100. Their value based on 80% condition was in the $190 range. I'd say you most likely scored!

I have a similar one. It has a little side lever. It sat in a barn, used to kill pigs at slaughter.

My son learned to shoot safely at 5 using it. I still play with it yearly, just for fun. A few shorts and a can and it spells FUN.

I've got a Crackshot 26 in fair shape over-all, and the barrel is great. Just saw an acquaintance at the gun show, who said he's got two that with a little work might become functional. I can get them cheap, and I might.

Yours looks very good, maybe had a little refurb? I love the simplicity of the old things. jd

Good deal~? It would have been a good deal at $240 if it's as nice as you claim~!

I bought it because I liked the looks of it. I have been offered $300, but I will be keeping it. It is cute. Hope to shoot it someday.
