My new "at least to me" long range toy

Here are a couple of pics of the 6SLR that I picked up from a member here. Has a 700 action that has been trued and squared with the lugs lapped. Barrel is a Brux 1-8 twist with a 1.25 diameter no taper finished at 30" with interrupted flutes. Trigger is a worked over Remington set at 1 OZ. The scope pictured is not with the gun. I have a Sightron SIII 8-32x56 W/ the MOA reticle that is going on top. Just waiting for a 20moa rail to get here.

Rifle will be used for long range ground hog sniping from my shooting bench and making the yearly journey to Wyoming for some dog town shooting.





I think the ground hogs and prairie dogs are in trouble!! ;D

I have not put any down range yet. The previous owner has only shot it about 15 times so the barrel is still new. With no load development,using 43gr. of 4831sc pushing Bergers, he was getting clover leafs so I feel confident it will be a shooter. I plan on shooting the 105 Amax's.

Also "Preacher" here on the forum did the chamber work and that makes me even more confident that the rifle will perform

Sweet looking rig, Dave. I really like the barrel fluting. I'm shooting IMR7828ssc in mine but Preacher can give you the "magic" charge of H4831sc.

I hope so Steve. I also have a Remington 40X in 22BR rifle on the way. Now I just gotta figure out which one I want to shoot more. Decisions.........decisions. ;D

The stock is a laminate, that has stain applied to it after it was done to get color..
