My new Anschutz

My Anchutz that shot in the Beijing Olympics in 2008. Jon said he shot it for about ninety days and put it up. Since Jon shot for the UK, Anshutz hand picked the receiver and barrel. The trigger assembly was changed to a 5018. To make it easy and legal the old serial number was machined off and the number from his old receiver was stamped in the new receiver. Jon shot it at the Anchutz facility when he picked it up.
It will now go to Keith, Cigarcop, with my Terry Leonard stock to have one of his great bedding job.

I wonder what trigger Jon had on it if it was changed to a 5018; that's the default option for a 1913, and for the previous 1813 Match 54 incarnation.

The Match 54 just looks so sleek.
Tim, I'll ask. I know nothing about the Anschutz and do not know the answer to your question.

Tim, Jon said that was the trigger that he wanted, so that is how it was when he picked it up.

Barreled action is at my Bud's shop. I'll try to pick it up in the morning. 2 of our forum members will be at lunch with me tomorrow and then a BR BS session.

There is nothing like an Annie. I have a Mod 54 that was built in 1958 and it shoots. I mean it really shoots. It came with all the Olympic dodads including two rear sights and two triggers along with a custom made steel carrier. Wish I knew the history of it. Have a feeling a very serious shooter owned it at one time.

There were a lot of very serious shooters in the 1950s and 60s. A look at the number of shooters in the small bore National Matches in 1960 will prove my point. Even in 1970 after the withdrawal of Fed. Govt. support of the National Matches, the numbers make today's participation look insignificant. New does not necessarily mean better.
