My new 6SLR

I was thinkin about the SLR for another bbl for my steel banger but my BRDX will do 3000 with 105s with 10 grs less powder,,,why would you want to burn 10 more grs powder for same ?

I realize this thread is dated, but I'm getting a bit of a bug for the 6 BRDX. Can you give me any comparion of it compared to the Dasher or straight 6BR? I'm fighting the narrow load tuning window of the Dasher. I know the 6BR-AI seems to be an improvment over both the 6BR and Dasher. The 6BRDX looks just about perfect, though. I don't mind the caseforming part at all. I'd just like a wider tuning window.

Also, regarding your above statement, how is your brass life? I'm assuming you're using Lapua.

in my BRDX I run 33 grs RL15 and 36.2 H4350 with the 104 BIBs and 105 VLDs between 2975 and 3020 fps

my fireform load is a 105 Hornady BTHP and 28.5 H4895 with bullets jammed really hard,,

I have brass with over 20 cycles at 3,000+ fps with no problems,,

I don't feel the need to defend the SLR. I have been shooting it since before it was called the 6mmSLR and called the 6mm SuperX so that goes back closing in on ten years now I guess. I also have a 6BR which I love dearly. looked real hard at the 6BRDX and still may do that down the road. Yet when I NEED a little horse power and or something that actually feeds from a Magazine it wont be the 6BRDX.
With IMR 7828SSC I hit a high velocity of 3278fps at its max pressure. Just wanted to see how high it would go to reach max and that is where I ended up. I am not a big on speed so I don't run them up there as there is no need. I use my wind reading skills to get the job done and a more accurate combo if it is a little slower. Keep in mind this is with a 30" barrel and not the 24" and 26" barrels everyone is talking about above.

I am surprised the BRDX can hit 3000fps with a 26" barrel however.

Russ, I'm getting 2974 with sub .1 groups from a 6br imp. with 26" barrel and Barts 103....... and it will go faster but not shoot as good. jim

LOL. Hi Jim.. This is from a few years ago. With RL26 on the market lately the SLR is now going 3280 ish fps and I had it up to 3400fps but it didn't want to shoot up there.
However.. That little BR case is hard to beat at the 600 yard game... No arm twisting for me... I believe the BR family cases will go down in history like the PPC has and is for the Point blank game.
