Hey everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I have been lurking around gathering information for a few weeks now and decided this was the forum for me. I plan on starting my venture into competition with a custom Mauser in 7mm-08 I recently bought off of a friend. With factory ammo it is already printing just under 1" at 100 yards off of a poor rest in quickly diminishing light and some wind. I think the thing holds some serious promise.
My first question is about stocks. This rifle will be used for some varmint hunting and sniper shoots so I want to keep it within reason and because I'm on a budget inexpensive without compromising accuracy. I dont want a full benchrest stock and I know I want a synthetic/composite stock. Are there any suggestions on witch one to go with. I have been looking at the Bell and Carlson medalist varmint stock.
