My imagination, or is Accurate Shooter site slower now?

We are working on this.

1. Yes we have noticed a slower response time in past 3-4 days. We are exploring the reasons. It appears the issue is network routing BEFORE it gets to our servers.

Example -- Yesterday I saw slow response at my home computer in morning using a very fast-rated Spectrum connection. Forum response was slow.

Then, at a doctor's office at 2 pm yesterday, connecting via Verizon Wireless, the Forum response was VERY fast. Difference was quite surprising.

This means that the slow-down is BEFORE it reaches our server. Before anything over which we have control.

2. First, understand we are running a very costly, high-end cloud server solution. Honestly, there is not much we could do to improve the server, at any price.

FYI, the Bulletin is running VERY fast for me with FireFox... instantaneous page display. And, yes, that is the same server, same firewall.

3. We have seen a significant increase in traffic in recent days -- 180% of normal. 4 million accesses in a day vs. 2.2 million before. We are trying to determine why. It appears that the search engines are getting MUCH more involved with this Forum. We may have to write scripts to prevent bot access.

4. Some browsers are faster than others. I recommend you leave Chrome behind. Google is doing all sorts of tracking and data harvesting now. You may find Firefox or even Edge considerably faster.

5. I have engaged help from multiple Xenforo experts. And we are in the process of doing a major upgrade to version 2.X. Hopefully that may help.

6. We are working on the issue. We have already worked with the firewall company and changed some DNS settings to create a new path to the site.

As best we can determine, the major issue is a slow-down at a company named GTT.net

I almost always access with safari on an IPad. Sometimes on an IPhone. Everything is slower for me these days so I didn’t think it was this site causing it. Would I be better off accessing this site with a different browser?

Yes I have also noticed it , I reset my router the other day because of it thinking it was on my end.... Everything else seems ok but this site....

Somebody needs to upgrade from DSL.

Probably 10 times longer to load a thread than it had been. Pretty sure it isn't my internet speed.

I ran the reboot, then I ran the supplemental virus program and it is still slower " than molasses in January".

173? I just checked my speed. 5.4 mbps download and 1.2 upload. We are at the end of the DSL line with no option for high speed. You wouldn’t believe how many deals I missed out on due to slow speed.. porn is by smoke signal.

But as my bride and myself are sitting on my deck looking at the view, I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

Guys... we know there is an issue.

We have professionals looking at the problem.

From what we can determine the slowdown is coming from internet issues that have nothing to do with the servers we pay for and control. Why a slow-down is impacting this site and not others we can't be sure, but we are seeing TRIPLE the amount of normal accesses on the site right now, with no spike in registered users.

I am locking this thread for now because, honestly there is nothing more to add until we find solutions.

We are well aware that there is a problem and we will be working on it this weekend.

I just want to add, for the guys who are thinking "Jeez, why don't they just upgrade the server?". First we are already with an enterprise high-tech solution, costing 10 times what a typical web server might cost. Secondly, everything we are seeing is pointing to issues outside our server.
