My Greatest Loss - so far

Wow! I posted our loss to help me heal. I never expected an outpouring like this. Thank you one and all for your thoughts and prayers!
I wish those who malign those of us who shoot could see what I see every day here and on the ranges around the globe. Shooters are one of the most passionate and compassionate groups of people on the planet!
Thanks again.

My condolences. My friend that lets me hunt on his property was just placed in hospice. When I could, I would stop and talk to him after the hunt. WW2 vet.
When I lost my father I questioned my religion. I did plenty of research. Some people need wishful thinking. i decided i did not and would be better off w/o false consolation. It's a good time to reflect on the big questions. Richard Dawkins has a video titled 'We Are going To Die, and that Makes us the Lucky Ones.' Very powerful.

Sorry for you loss! I had an experience this year that is something I would like to forget. My mother got sick and ended up in ICU for three weeks
the day I picked her up to bring her home my dad had a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital I just left. We passed the ambulance on the way home. Things are good now but the feeling is unbelievable when I think about what just happened. I know you have it a lot worse than I do and I wish you the best. We only get a set of parents for a short time but the memories are forever.

Sorry for your loss, you have my thoughts and prayers.

My Father lives with me, he is much like your Dad and has been a great influence on our children. He still hunts, shoots and rides endurance motorcycle riding. He's one of the founders of ironbutt, a group of very passionate motorcyclists. Your post reminds to live in the moment, to cherish each day and to be full of gratitude that he is still with us. I try not to ever take that for granted.

Great Fathers teach their sons to be the same, we need more of them. The world would be a better place.

May you find peace in your own way, on your own time frame.

Watercam, please accept my sincere condolences. My own father died in 1972. I still miss him very much. But remember your father still lives in you and is still with you. God bless you and your family. Mike
