My fix for accu-trigger

Here’s what I do.

1..Make longer adjusting tool ( from .093”, 3/32” SS tig wire) grind thin slot, bend handle, bend aligns with slot.
2.. Grind rear trigger guard screw aluminum boss. ( grind on an angle ,more off bottom than top)
3..Drill trigger guard on a slight angle, a little bigger than the adjusting tool wire size.

This is how I deal with adjusting the trigger without having to take the gun apart. I done this to both my Savage LRPV target actions 3 yrs ago. It works like a Dream. Did you ever set your trigger and put the gun back together and find out it’s still off (too light or too hard), this Mod. will fix that , with out ever having to get off the line.

Maybe Savage will take my idea and run with it.

What can you get the Accu-trigger down to with your tool ??

My tool is the same as the tool you get with your gun, I only make one longer, so you can adjust it without taking barreled action off the stock to do so. I can get the pull weight down to 5 to 6 oz..( my best guess with a OZ. spring scale). But to get away with that you cannot slam the bolt down, If you close the bolt easy all the time you set it very light.
The nice thing about using a long tool. You can set it and adjust it all day long until you get it the way you want, without taking the gun apart every time. I have not done this modification to any other Savage stock, only the HS. But I think other Savage wood stocks could be modified possibly easier as well.

Nicely done noload ! I'd like to try this myself. I have an older, standard accutrigger (not the comp accutrigger). It's most notable feature is erratic weight of pull. Your thoughts on whether this might work or should I just replace with after market trigger? Thanks in advance

I have no knowledge of older savage triggers. This is the ticket for accu- triggers. I have noticed that the sear should have a slight amount of lube on it, thats the way they come from the factory. If you wipe off the sear lube, the trigger pull weight will be different.
