My first tikka

For those that don't like the Tikka plastic stocks (it seems no one does) they make a laminated wood model and 2 models with walnut. The .308 they make that is the same that the Mounties issue looks mighty interesting too.
Yes I have a plastic and a laminate, the laminate feels a lil sturdier but the plastic shoots just as well.

The wood stocks are much nicer, but I would rather take the plastic stock hunting with me. My Creedmoor is fluted stainless and plastic, so it is better equipped to handle the elements. Fully loaded with 9x scope mounted, it only weighs 7.5 lbs. Not the best for BR shooting, but great for hiking through the woods. Nice looking stock Josh.

Thanks! I keep the original stock with the gun so the next owner can switch it if he wants to.:)

I might have a factory stock in the near future available. I am having a stock made for my T3x LITE in 270 Win. I just had it re-barreled by Pac-Nor with the same contour that the factory barrel had.
It might be a month until my new stock will be made, if you can wait that long.

If any of ya have a extra black stock you don’t like I’m looking for one that fits T3.
Ok. I found it. Pretty much as new. Just a little dusty.

I had a thought and checked it with some spare hardware. The T3x bottom metal is wider than the t3 and doesn’t fit. It’s about 1/4” wider at the fattest. If you need the T3x, I’d take 370bc’s offer. I wouldn’t even try to to re-inlet one of these plastic stocks. You can have it if you’re going to use it. If money is tight for you, it’s free. If not, make a small donation to the forum and I’m happy.;)

I have a T3 so I’ll take your stock. Send me payment info and a price and I’ll get some money on the way to ya and I’ll send a donation to the site tomorrow as well. Thanks Troy

370bc thanks for the offer, I thought the T3 and t3x were the same but sounds like I was wrong about that and the bottom hardware is different.

OK. Send me a PM with your address. I’ll get it in the mail. You cover shipping. Send whatever you want to the site donation as payment. This is one of those “pay it forward” things. One site member helping another for the betterment of the site.;) I’ll let you know what shipping is. Josh

They are great shooters. I have a pair of twins. One in .243 and the other in .223. They both have bushnell 4200 2.5-10x40 now. Both were moa on the first day with cheap to moderately priced ammo. I use the .223 for jack rabbits and cheap practice. I use the .243 for predators, and eventually medium game if I ever draw a tag. I have had the .223 for about 10 years. It has taken countless jack rabbits, coyote, and a wild boar.

Ya Man...….never heard one needing to be sent back from new either.

Unfortunately, I had to send mine back to Beretta because it had multiple failures during my first trip to the range. However, Beretta was unable to find anything wrong with it. It turns out that I had two boxes of defective ammo from two different manufacturers (and it wasn't cheap ammo). What are the odds? They sent the rifle back to me, never charged me for their service, and there wasn't a single scratch on it when it arrived. I no longer buy ammo from those two manufacturers, and the rifle is remarkably accurate. Tikka is still my first choice.

I've spent many hours this summer trying to get my son in laws new T3 308 to shoot 150gr Hornady IL's. I tried multiple powders, seat depths, brass, primers, bedding etc. 1.5 plus at 100 which is good enough for it's intended use here, but I am familiar with a lot of Tikka rifles and know they are more accurate than this one. Finally gave up on the 150 Hornadys, and tried 125 gr Sierra prohunters. First 3 shots .269. Later tests all 3/4 moa and less. Shot one into 3 water filled gallon jugs with a box of wet catalogs as a backstop at 50 yards.. Bullet went through all 3 jugs and was stuck in the outside end of the box perfectly expanded and weighed 67 grs. That will work. Barlow
