My First 6PPC - NIB RUGER VT

I found a NIB RUGER VT in 6PPC - priced right.
It appears to have 1:12 twist.

Anyone ever had one or have any suggested loads?

Yup, it doesn't shoot too bad.
100 rds of fire form and another 50 of load development.

So far it holds an easy 0.500" with a best of 0.325" at a 100 yds.

I've problems with the bolt. First it galled up on the lugs and it operates hard closing all the time,unless you hold trigger to release the firing pin).
It's been out and apart several times to polish and deburr.

My other bolts are smooth,one finger operation) - not this one.

You have to use some stainless compatible lube. I dont remember who makes it but every stainless ruger I have ever had has requied it!

Comes in a little yellow and white thingy, I was getting it at acaedemy.

It has a regular name and explanation but I am a simple country hick and do not know what its called!!

I had one of those rifles many moons ago. It really, really liked 26.5-27.5 grs. of H322 & a 68 gr. Berger flat base. 27.5 worked in Michigan & had to reduce to 26.5 grs. H322 when I moved to South Carolina. These were safe in my rifle yours may differ. The primer was Fed. GMM. It was the most accurate factory rifle I have ever owned. Semper Fi

No, now IIRC they were discontined in 96'.
