VV-N135 and VV-N140 should work with the 80 gr. bullets.Any of the VV powders that might work good with this bullet?
N540 might be a good one as well. I have used N540 in the 6.5x47 with 123 Nosler CC.VV-N135 and VV-N140 should work with the 80 gr. bullets.
Ts 15.5 should be ideal. And it's the best powder you listed. Amazing stuff. Thanks for the replies. Have a few loaded with RL-15.5 but it may be a little too slow, also Varget and H4895. Got 5 primed brass left in that box and trying to decide what else to try. I have a full bottle of RL-15 I think, but like y'all said when it's gone it's gone so why bother. Any of the VV powders that might work good with this bullet? BTW, I have been working with the Berger 87 HVLD with good results using the RL-15.5, getting up around 3450 - 3480fps with good numbers and accuracy.
Looks like Varget is leading the pack with those test. Finally got to the range to try these the other day, and now finally reporting. Been doing lotsa flower beds while weather is nice, so not much time for shooting. Anyway, pictures pretty much tell their own story. Factor in that the wind at our range is exceedingly aggravating. Biggest surprise was the poor showing of the RL-15.5 load but it was compressed pretty badly so maybe I damaged the bullets while seating them. I'll back that load off a half grain and try again. The other 3 loads were on the light side so I'll go up on them and try again. Think I'll try a H4350 load next time, too. I'm thinking that I should be able to develop a load around 3650 fps with this bullet. Does that sound reasonable?
This above. Varget is always the one to beat in my 6 x 47L. Don't fight it, just use it and be happy. Lol.Looks like it likes Varget.
