I have to jam my BRA to +.020 when fireforming and still get a few ftf's, drop the pin on them 3 times nothing, take them out then rechambered and they went.Or load them to jam instead of jump?
@Nature Boy
Did you get a chance to pull your bullets? Or get anything figured out? I am interested to see what happened/fixes your issue.
I’ve been out of town all week. I’ll have some info when I get to the range this weekend
That d@mn work thing. Always getting in the way of our hobbies. Lol
I’ve found that the 450s have 100% strike rate after cases are ff..Update
I beat the bullets out of the 22 rounds that didn’t fire (all had powder, as I knew they would) and loaded 10 back up with the same load, including the #450 primers, but jammed the bullets 0.010 into the lands this time.
On the second go round 2 out of 10 failed to ignite. 20% is an improvement over 44%, but not good enough to use them for fire forming. I loaded more fire forming rounds with Fed 205m, CCI #400 and Rem 7 1/2 primers and all 30 of these fired.
I’ll try the #450s again with fire formed brass and see if the issue with these persists
I used the Fed GM205M yesterday doing my 1st ladder at 300yds with a BRA with H4895 103VT's 15in. 30.1 to 30.5 44fps ES and all 5 shots stayed in just over 1/2" in a light breeze with 1/4" vert. I still have to play with seating and the Ezelle tuner. That will be done next weekend at Williamsport. What i am getting at is the Fed primers will be fine if they are going BANG for you.Update
