I'm not wanting to hijack my own thread, in order to stop the deliberations over Tula primers, but I have a picture now of my 100 yard group with 205M primers. You all don't mind, do you? :)
That's just way to funny right there,..LOL ;D Nice group Steve, what was your final load, and seating depth? What did the group measure? and is it repeatable?
Wayne.

Wayne,

All of the load details are a couple of posts above this one. Yes, it is repeatable. I also posted a picture of my first 600 yard target in this forum.

Glad you got a chuckle, so did I. :)

Steve,
I had read the post above but wasn't sure if that was your final load,..well gongrats then that is something to be proud of and definitely competitive.
I just ran my first 13 rounds through my new 6BRX today, very windy and cold but I shot and cleaned for seven rounds then loaded 6 105 hybrids seated .010 off lands, 32.0 grains of H-4895 and CCI 400 primers shot the first at my foul target then put 5 in .320 if that is repeatable for me tomorrow I will head to 300 then 1000 and see how they do, so far they look real promising for both of us, best of luck to you steve in your up coming matches ;) I will be awaiting how the 600 yard Saturday match goes for you, good or bad let us know please.
Wayne.

Wayne, The best so far for the Dasher and the 105H is .200+ and the same for my friend it was the same size groups in the 2's. I hope too get them a little smaller with the new barrel or there will be a bunch for sale.......jim

Wayne, Took a while to get back to you. I am useing 31.5 H4895 with br4s, 105 hybrids 010 off lands with my dasher. Savage target action, shelin select match bull barrel, 28" 8 twist.

Jim,
That sounds awesome, I will get mine down further also, I only have 13 rounds down the tube right now and it was very windy yesterday so I have high hopes for groups the size of yours also,..thanks.

Larry,
Thank's for the reply, looks like your load is doing awesome in your rifle, I don't have any chronograph results yet as is was almost to dark to even see the target when I shot my group last night but I am getting ready to head out right now and shoot another group before I head to work and will see if there is enough light to get the chrono to read. What has your group sizes been like?
Wayne.

Wayne, I am using RL-15 33+ jumped about.015 with .001 NT. I just trimmed and pointed some and soon as i get my new bench in and the concrete poured i will test some more...........jim

+1. I sold off 2,000 after a series of duds. I'm pretty certain my firing pin is not weak either.

I bought a bunch of the Tula ammo primers from Powder Valley a couple of years ago, and I get a lot of duds (1 in 10 failure). This happens in every gun I've shot them in including the Dasher. Accuracy is horrible also.

I got a crazy deal on Tula Primers at a show... I couldn't passit up, so I bought 20K of the Tula SRM's :)

I did very little testing with them so far, but from the little bit that I've done, they couldn't keep up (in terms of accuracy) with CCI 450's in both of my 6BR's.

I'm not looking to sell them (yet), I'll need to give them a chance. If they work... I'll have the same lot number for a quite a long time :)

edit - it's worth noting that I had a couple of "duds" as well, when test the Tula primers...

Wayne, Groups are in the ones but I am only shooting 100 yds with excellent conditions. I have the nickname 1 hole at the club I belong to. I'm going to the public range which has 200 and 300 yds tomorrow (thursday) and will let you know how I make out. The groundhog matches that I'm going to attend has 200,300,and 400 yds which should make it a lot more interesting.
Larry

Larry, are those 5 shot groups? If they shoot at 1 hundred they will work every where. was that load at the top with H4895? ..jim

Jim, they are all 5 shot groups. They are not at the top, Working up a load I went to 32.5 and the primers were flat but bolt lift was not bad. I have 32 loads on the brass I am useing and just having to throw some out. A few neck cracks and head seperations. I have new brass that I am going to use for the matches.

Larry how about a follow up, how did you do in the matches? just curious.
Wayne.

1K test on the 105h,I could get nothing under a low 4" It was just a bad conditions or me or the bullet or all the above........ jim

JUMP the Hybrids guys.
We have been experimenting with better results at 1000 yds.
Every gun likes different parameters but all of our Dasher tests in here in Missoula have had better results by jumping them long. Berger also suggests jumping them long for best results, we agree.
Great Hybrid experience. During a recent practice, a fellow competitor wanted to try my rig. I had 5 Dasher Highbrids left loaded differently for a test. It was getting late in the morning with a 4-5 mph from the 2. He put the 5 rounds in there, on a fresh target, at 1000 with a group of 7/8" !!! He was just talking to me, feeling the system and sending them easy. We are all still talking about that. I will try some more of that load with that gun tomorrow.
Good enough is never good enough at 1000.
Shoot well, have fun.

Jim,
How many shot group and how far?
Wayne.

Greg,
Are you doing your shooting at deep creek? Do you compete at Deep creek? just curious as I do.
Wayne.

Yes, I am a Deep Creek shooter. We have met, briefly. I am not one of the important ones. I think I am the only one on the line that has not had a World Record or World Championship, yet. As you know, it is tough to get a check at Deep Creek. They are all great on helpfull advice from some of the best ever to shoot 1000 yds.
Bill Brown sent that 7/8" 5 shot 1000 yd. Hybrid group with my gun last week. We will be out there at daylight tomorrow for more testing. He will be shooting my light gun at the next match in two weeks. If you see him, give him some grief over that as a quarter coin size group is just excessive and rude at 1000 yds.
I am not in the habit of responding to these. It is painfull to occasionally read some of these because I have been there, in the dark, and probably always will be. I just thought I would let the guys here know that the hybrid seems to do better seated back as we have been testing it with many parameters. It is hard to get your mind around that but I see some great groups with it. Berger indicated they got the best results at 60-70 off.
Hope to see you at the next match.
Greg

Greg,
Thanks, I am looking forward in seeing you there, I am shooting the Hybrids also, I am not as good of shot as Jim but I got a 6'' and a 5.9" 10 shot group at the last Deep creek match with them. Do you wear a cowboy hat and did we talk about how you cut the cut outs so neatly in your gun case foam? I will be sure to give B.B a little guff for sure ;D
Wayne.

Jim,
I am sorry if I read your short post and let just the first two words sink in I wouldn't have had to ask you a stupid question ::) sorry.
Wayne.

Wayne,
Talk to the guys about the Hybrid parameters tested. I do not want to list them here but I can say they do not match these listed here. Are you drilling a hole through the long axis of the bullet?
Greg

Wayne, You have a long way too get as bad as me..... The only thing that shot in the 3's was 338 norma heavy gun i think, light was 4's and bigger.......jim
