My first 1000-yard shoot

I shot my first-ever riifle competition Saturday the 14th with the Sahuaro 1000-Yard BR Shooters, west of Tucson at Three Points. What a blast!

I shot a .243 Winchester Light Gun owned by Wayne McDonald, who also gave me his reloads for it. TYVM most-gracious sir! I placed 3rd in LG Total Score, which astonished me as I've never fired a rifle in competition or at anything 1000 yards away. And I got all shots on target!

TYVM, my new friends; I'll be back in August,thx mostly to Wayne, again). Maybe I'll have my own rifle in September.

Jeffrey, Don't go back! I shot my first match there and now am forever broke. Wayne, Karl, Dick, Russ and all the rest of those guys are trying to bait you.
It might be too late for you though. You might be already hooked. They seem like the nicest guys, helping out a newbie. Get you to shoot a respectable group or score to lead you down the path of forever searching for that right combination.

By the way. If you do go back. Tell the guys Hi for me, and I'm hoping my schedule allows me to get back there for some more shooting. [Bullets and the Shit]

Now you need to shoot one with the big kids. Those guys in Tucson are so easy to beat that it's almost embarrasing.

I'm off to Reno for the Nationals and I hope Bolo's truck breaks down on the drive across the Sierra. And both Lynn's too. And Tom's. And Stu's and Bert's. And Ron's and Gary's. Did I leave anybody out??

Maybe then I'll have a slim chance of getting one of those fake wood trophies.
