my current project should be done in

a month or so, and the next one is already getting parts bought.

this will be for sure a good 6mmBR, from the parts, which should reach out and touch someone a long ways aways..

but i have not been able to find anything pro/con with going with a standard AI conversion.

would it be advantageous in terms of terminal down range hits on critters? mostly this will be a long range varmint gun, not for records or paper punching.

i feel going to an AI would be cost effective at least, as the county has a $50.00 open season on 'yote pelts.

my real question is has anyone done some research and published any conclusions? would like to learn something before i step into another cow patty.

regards, tbob

Hi by meaning AI do you mean just a 6mmBR AI with the shoulder in the same location. If so i believe there is no reel advantage in it but if by improved you mean a 6mmBRX or 6mm Dasher that is a different story. they are verry close balisticaly and i believe there is an advantage with the 6mm Dasher as you can buy Redding dies off the shelf as semi custom dies sompthing you cant do with the BRX you can use 6mm br dies for shoulder bumping and seation but not for sizing the base of the case you have to buy another die and modify it to bump the base or you can buy a custom die verry expensive todo the job. I have a 6mmBR and a 6mm Dasher and if you want the extra velocity go with the dasher if not for more barrel life and a verry accurate round get a 6mmBR with a 271-272 neck no turn and start shooting little groups.
