My contender for best $1000 LR hunting scope out there

Just delivered today an open box from Red Hawk rifles for $950 to my door. It is the Japanese 2nd gen Zeiss V4 4-16x44 with Zmoai T30 (center illuminated) reticle. New safety lock exposed windage turret ( big deal here), individual illumination setting stops, parallax and zero stop. 80moa elevation.

Pretty much all can ask for in features with very good glass. Its dark now and just tested at twilight.

Recent thorough reviews have indicated shock and repeatability comparable to NF. Good video review below.

Any just a heads up for those not aware of the Gen2 version. Caveat: beware dont pick up a deal on a gen1 thinking is is gen 2! differences are reticle, illumination settings and windage lock.

I will take this over the v6 any day. Had one.

Beautiful! Reticle is a little busy for my preferences for a hunting scope, I like duplex with dot, but you do you!

yes on the duplex with dot. But this one has just the small center T light up so it might work just fine. I worried the dot/duplex be a bit too heavy for me on long distance plinking and paper work. For every furball I shoot I shoot a thousand rocks.

I dont think it is in the same league for features. Glass is probably equal. But the selling point for me is the V4's repeatability and shock testing that is field proven by many. Not that I have anything against Meopta, other than a year ago I was trying to buy one to check out and called the usa distributor 3x and always got an answering machine and no returned calls. Same with their website. Strange. It was the warranty test for me. I called Zeiss and right away got a nice lady to chat with.
