My Buddy is joking!!

I’d say that there’s at least a 50/50 shot that the guy who had an empty desk is the guy who got all his shit done.

Or maybe he never did anything?

Or maybe his desk is empty because of the Biden economy.

So many possibilities
My best friend of close to 70yrs is my opposite. Thom has his socks and underwear marked and he makes sure that they are rotated in his clothes drawers in order that he uses them in order to insure even wear. He has a code system that is marked on all products in his shop. Tools are not put up until they are thoroughly cleaned. Wife loves it when he visits as he automatically starts on my shop.
He is a retired engineer and his habits helped in designing our Shadetree rest top and the 1.5oz triggers that we made for a while for the CZ452 RF rifles and other things.

I love that shop picture. The videos I have recorded for "Will Henry's Workshop" are all done in the tidy room, you can imagine what the messy one looks like!
I once spent a couple days fitting barrels for a barrelmaker friend of mine. His shop made mine look pristine but talk about atmosphere! WH

As we would say in the software industry: empty desk, empty mind.

That said, I rebuilt the entire shop. New benches, a mezzanine with storage units and bins and organized items in them, areas dedicated to individual tasks like reloading, gun work, lathe and mill work, welding area boat storage, auto and boat work area and a separate building for wood working. I can now find what I need and don't find myself running to the hardware store to buy something because I can't find what I know I have somewhere. I do have to keep on top of it, horizontal surfaces become storage locations in a big hurry.
